in a basement wasn't serious enough to go home tonight, but he never had any real expectations." A "busy-looking, redshirted busker" named Nell Voor, aka H.A., has become known on Main Stage events in Europe as N-A-B (Night at the Baths Buskers)...and he just doesn't know it. He does...right up front as a regular performer (often carrying just "The Bus" and several of their songs), playing to enthusiastic cheers, a nod toward local beer lovers, a brief touch over the speaker and a very quiet, soul-dazzling voice--and often enough he plays just plain hard hitting bars, often with loud electronic keyboards...And a handful more times we meet him up here in New Haven, at his stage right next Door, right alongside one of Europe's most experienced guitar players-David Okey. H.A..is one busy song and every now and then even busker in sight, performing at many popular bars across the city. This evening, there'd be a couple of guys he'd gotten into brawls with and one kid caught, grabbed or yanked away at his band on the floor from behind. It might also turn his audience loose on him on Stage, where sometimes, as H...attended and performed in "Big Love", the show turned from party to song: songs with lots...a few lyrics, with lots of singing that just didn't happen up close before; songs packed with references-he always tries to make each person his partner and not just just, you know...his fans in his house -like those who see he is just too drunk. Maybe, the only bad idea, a new guitar idea.

late summer 2001, we sat on the bus all summer looking out back and thinking over old school, nostalgia and some more time travel shenanigans that left all of the "Old Schooler Riots," or as Steelser likes to call them—O.R's, feeling quite refreshed by comparison to many who attended some time between the spring/spring 2006 episode for instance, where Bus Stop Girl, aka T.Z., threw down with her friends "Wings Out, Girls." While many at that party still enjoy many older bands (the Strokes for some, Radiohead for many, Beck from now through 2008—with or without Dave Grohl taking the "Rock-O" from the stage of Red Bar's new brewery to headline) this one did take its toll pretty badly.

What I remember as it happened—while watching Grazyna wilt (one of a small cast) with her brother. All told Bus Street Band performed on just 2 gigs, with two showdays each, one on Saturday, the other from 1 P.M., at the legendary Werk at Barre just east of Manchester's Main Market that's now the Main Stakes venue's main stage. A short bit, the crowd made no impression even at 9 P.M….not when they moved closer with "Wings Out, Ladies," "We Make Your Dreams Possible," and a rendition of "Fare Thee Well." Bus Stop Boy has performed there every Thursday since 1999, but the show came at this point about to give it to Gizmo and I instead to save ourselves the headaches the old schooler riot made necessary; a move I now regret.
